Okay, I have to admit, Des Moines adventures doesn't sound NEARLY as exciting as my previous European adventures, but hey...Iowa is almost as cool. Not really, but I thought I'd try to start writing a blog every once in awhile about things I have going on here in Iowa. I'm not sure if anyone will still get the link to this, so I'll send it out for those that may not.
As of right now, I don't have too much to say. I'm back in class this week after time off from Thanksgiving and now I'm just waiting for Christmas break!! We'll finish all our current block of classes before break, so it'll be our first break where we really won't have to study over it. When I had my fall break, Ross and I went to Minnesota for a music festival and to see Peggy and fam and I found myself getting up in the morning while camping/at a festival and studying before everyone got up (I'm pretty sure people thought I was crazy when they found me sitting by a fire with a huge stack of pharm notes) and even during Thanksgiving I finished my online Genetics class.
Class is going relatively well, and I'm enjoying it but its hard for sure. There's never a week where we don't have a test (and only have one test a week is rare), so it's study-study-study all the time. Tonight I'll be working on a presentation I need to have done by Friday for my Nutrition class and practicing for my SPAL tomorrow (SPAL is our patient labs where we have to go in with a 'patient' (actor) and take their history/do a physical). This is our first SPAL for our Clinical Assesments class which means it's a little more in depth then our previous ones. We have to come up with a treatment plan/medication by the end of it and give an oral report (after 5 minutes and with no resources) so I'm pretty nervous!
Well...with that, I suppose I should get to studying!
