Busy week! Well, I feel like every day is busy here or at least really long. Can’t remember when I last wrote, but we started class officially on Wednesday. I have 6 people in my class right now including me. There is four from our group, an older man from Japan, and a girl from Australia. I like it so far. We do two hours of grammar in the morning, two hours of conversation, than an hour of listening. Conversation is my favorite because we pretty much just talk about anything and everything. However, I have a crap ton of homework to do for that class, but I’ll work on that tomorrow (Nerja today!).
Wednesday night we had our first intercambio. This is when our group goes and meets with a group of Spanish students/youths just to hang out and talk and work on their English and our Spanish. It was a lot of fun! I was really nervous at first because it almost feels like you’re going on a blind date or something because you’re sitting there in a teteria (tea shop) waiting for someone to show up. But we met a couple cool people and had a great time! Afterwards we went out to a tapas bar (tapas bars are like a bar that serves appetizers and beer) with some of the people from our group and people we had met at the intercambio.
Other than that things have started to get into a routine. Breakfast, class, lunch, siesta or beach, dinner, homework, maybe go to el centro and hang out or go for a walk/run, and try to get to bed fairly early. (Last night I was super lame and feel asleep at like 9…) We don’t have a group excursion this weekend but a group of about 10 of us are going to Nerja for the day. Nerja is about an hour or two away and has caves and a lot prettier beaches, so it should be a fun trip! I’ll write more later today after the trip, but now I need to get ready for breakfast! (And wake Amber up)
i was totally going to ask you about tapas! i was talking to karen(pharmacist) about your trip and she had mentioned tapas and told me what it was all about. it's a pretty common thing over there right? nerja sounds really cool. first of all i like the name, and caves and beaches are super awesome. i think it's really neat how you're meeting people from other parts of the world too. intercambio sounds fun. how often do you do that? OH! i finished the puzzle tonight. there are a total of 4 pieces missing. but mr. wolf still looks pretty good. i really want to bust out winnie the pooh but i need to take a break so i can study and get that test over with. then i can do all the puzzling i want. :) if you have the time and patience, will you put at least 1 picture of nerja up? i can't wait to see all the pictures when you get back. larry(other pharmacist) has a photo album of some of his best pictures from his vacations over the years. they're all 8x10 which makes them so cool to look at. i think you should do that with some of your pictures. including pictures from your other vacations and probably some of your flower photos too. just an idea. :) keep having a great time!! miss you!
ReplyDeleteso cant wait to come and see you. Loveya lots.
ReplyDeleteTapas are very common and i love it! I need to branch out though because I of course found 1 or 2 that I like so I don't get other ones.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure how often the intercambios are I think there should be one more this month, I wish they were more often because its a good way to meet people!
And I can't wait to see the puzzle, you might have to post a pic of it!
